Our Story
Joy Blackwell had spent over 25 years on corporate America - scaling companies, leading operations, managing hundreds of millions in payroll - and she knew one thing for certain: the most valuable thing business isn’t your resume. It’s your relationships.
So, she built Austin Women in Business. A community where women could show up authentically, support each other relentlessly, and grow together intentionally. The response was immediate. The rooms filled up. The connections were real. And then came the question Joy kept hearing from women in cities across the country:
“When are you bringing this to us?”
The answer is now. The Women in Business National Network is Joy’s answer to every woman who has ever walked into a room and wondered where her people were. We’re building that room - in every city in America.

Joy Blackwell - Founder
Joy Blackwell is a business operations executive with over 25 years of director - level experience leading payroll operations, scaling organizations, and building high-performing teams. She has managed upwards of $750 million in annual payroll revenue and has led workforce expansions from 100 to 1,700 employees.
As the founder of OpEX Consulting Group, Joy brought her enterprise -level expertise to businesses of all sizes - helping them build the operational infrastructure they need to grow. But it was her passion for women in business that led her to build something different.
Austin Women in Business was born from Joy’s belief that women are stronger together. WBINN is the national expansion of that belief - a community built on real relationships, honest conversations, and a shared commitment to seeing each other succeed.
Joy is based in Austin, Texas and leads WIBNN with the same energy she brings to everything else she does: bold, intentional, and all in.
